My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?

     22:1

Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my sighing.

Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray

     5:1

How long, O Lord?  Will you forget me for ever?  How long will you hide your face from me?

     13:1

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint; o Lord, heal me, for my bones are in agony.

     6:2

I am in the midst of lions; I lie among ravenous beasts –

men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

     57:4

Arise, o Lord!  Deliver me, o my God!

For you have struck all my enemies on the jaw; you have broken the teeth of the wicked.

     3:7

May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame;

may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.

     35:4

Let death take my enemies by surprise;

let them go down alive to the grave, for evil finds lodging among them.

     55:15

On no account let them escape; in your anger, o God, bring down the nations.

     56:7

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty man?

Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?

     52:1

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Do not hold against us the sins of our fathers;

may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need.

     79:8

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth;

give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:

he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
